We have recently been given a message of great joy for our little growing family! We are going to have a little girl! We have actually known now for quite sometime, but I have neglected to add it to the blog space.
There was once a time when I was really very good at keeping an up-to-date journal…yet it appears that I have currently fallen out of that habit. There has been so much that has taken place, that I feel it a shame that I have not kept a journal; and even then this blog space is more-or-less just snapshots and glimpse’s in time.
I’m sitting here and the wind is blowing gale-force winds outside, and Jaxon is trying so hard to fight the sleep that is slowly ebbing over his eyes…It will only be a matter of moments before the sleep inevitably takes him. He’s stubborn just like his old man.
Time is slowly creeping on, it’s almost like the mission: “The days are long, but the weeks are short.” I can’t believe that the holidays have come and past to leave us now looking forward to spring, blossoms, grass, warmth, and new life! Our little girl is scheduled/due to arrive on the 12th of June! We almost can’t wait, but we have a lot to keep us busy until that time! Just like the fall season, we have a lot going on this spring. We have a few birthdays: Aunt Jenny had a birthday February 11th, Cousin Hayden is having a birthday party on the 23rd to celebrate his birthday on the 27th, Grandpa (Papa) Mark has a birthday March 7th, Aunt Wendy’s on the 15th, Great-Grandpa Kitchener E. has a birthday on the 20th , Grandma Gale (My Mom) has a birthday on the 22nd, Uncle Ian on the 28th and Uncle Drew’s on the 31st! It’s sure going to be a busy month!
School and work has kept me really busy lately! Finals are coming up this next week, and I have had to do a lot of studying, while working full time at an Assisted Living Facility in Alpine, UT on the graveyard shift. It’s a blessing that my boss allows me to study while working over night. It’s been tough, but with helping to watch Jaxon while Angela works in the morning, it’s been great. Sometimes parenting is like a tag-team sport, when one needs a break they tap-out, and the other comes in where they left off. If I didn’t have a “teammate,” I would be so lost! Yet Angela is so much more than a teammate, she is my life, my friend, my companion, my cheerleader, my everything! Having her in my life is so much more than privilege, it’s an honor and a blessing; a blessing for which I strive everyday to remain worthy of possessing.
Angela has been doing very well! With exception to the odd days we all have with work, she likes her job and excels at her duties. The pregnancy continues to progress a little bit more everyday. It has been a wonder to watch our little girl grow within Angela! Just the other day Angela was resting with Jaxon on the bed when I came home from school, and I could actually see and feel where our daughter was resting in the womb. I can’t wait to touch and hold my little girl!
Jaxon has been growing and developing more and more everyday! Sunday night we were laying in bed; and as is usually the case, Jaxon was laying with us. Just for kicks, I looked over at Jaxon and said, “Jaxon, turn off the light in your room.” He looked at me, crawled off the bed, went across the hall, climbed up the recliner in his room, TURNED OFF THE LIGHT SWITCH ON THE WALL, climbed back down the chair, and ran into our room! AND THEN I told him to shut his door, to which he pulled an about-face and SHUT HIS DOOR! Angela and I didn’t know if he had shut it with him in his room or what, but after a second he came running back into our room. THEN I asked him to shut our door, and he did that as well! Then he ran to us amidst the clapping of our hands and the proclamations of our excitement and joy! Our little boy is growing up so fast, and is becoming so smart! He understands so much of what we say, far more than he can repeat…but we know it will only be a matter of time before he will be talking up a storm of recognizable words. He lets us know when he messes his diapers, and can say (at times) poopoo, peepee, oh oh…or he just cries a little saying “Momma” and touching his diaper. Angela and I are wondering if we can start potty-training him, because he lets us know when he has and/or is going.
I don’t really know how much more you can stand in regard to our lives, but it has been nice to be able to reach out and share with you…even for just a moment. We are so widespread in our family, and knowing that we can share with you makes you feel closer. We love you, we miss you, and we think of you often. With all our love, we wish you a wonderful and sweet Valentine’s Day (tomorrow) and an upcoming President’s Day Weekend!
Love Kitch, Angela, Jaxon, and our daughter!
P.S. – Stay tuned for girl names!

I am so excited for you. Girls bring a wealth of new joys into your life. There's nothing quite like dressing up your little doll for sundays, putting bows in her hair, and watch her twirl around to music in the living room. I watch her and know now why I was born. I'm sure you already feel that with Jaxon, now it will just increase. Congratulations and as always, you are in my prayers.
Becca
As always Kitch, I'm impressed with your heart, your sensitivity, your tenderness and your ability not only to express yourself but your willingness to share your feelings. You do it so well. Your dad and I are very excited for your little girl, our first grand daughter. We can hardly wait to see her, to hold her.
But on a realistic note son, enjoy the relative calm while it exists. Another baby tripples the joy and fun in your home, but also the noise, a little more stress, even less sleep...but trust me, it's totally worth it. I like what Becca said about watching her child then knowing why she was born. I feel the same about mine, and you will... or do feel the same about yours. We love you so much as well as your 'more than precious' wife and your 'wonderful beyond words' son.
Always, Mom and Dad!
