Precious Moments...Caught on Film, well you know!

In today's society where they have camera's everywhere; I was grateful to have a camera in our cell phones! Out little boy was caught on "film" doing whatever it took to get on T.V.!! He is just so amazing, and so cute; I can't stand it! It's astonishing me, dare I say it, how beautiful my son is!!!
And I can't even begin to describe how beautiful, and exquisitely angelic our little girl is. She was fed, and then put in a bouncer to "hang out"; before too long she was out! Probably still dreamin' of heaven! I just wanted to add these two pictures! Love ya!

HaPpy bIRthDaY to mE!

Oh, it came again. It's as if those grains of sand keep droppin' no matter what is going on! Before I knew it, it was my birthday and I turned 29. Wow, just repeat that...slowly; let it roll over your tongue and slip through the lips. Twenty-nine. It seems so weird to say, even more strange to comprehend. However, I like where I am, I know where I'm going, and I've learned from where I've been. :-)
Last night we celebrated my 29th birthday with my wife, my kids, my sister (Jenny) and nephew (Hayden), my sister-in-law (Sarah) and my other sister-in-law (Wendi). Sadly some family and my father and mother-in-law, and all my brother-in-laws were working or otherwise detained...but it was nice to have a gathering anyway, but there was definetly something missing! *you know who you are! :-)*. Angela made me my favorite, chicken enchilada's, Spanish rice, enchilada sauce, and then we had ice cream and cake! It was all so good! Then Angela and I took the kids (after watching Grey's Anatomy, of course) for a little drive up to the Provo LDS Temple, and then we made our way back home.
It was a special and rare occasion that we had and shared, to reminisce upon our previous years at BYU and being single...and then me reaching the realization that it was almost 10years ago that I, as a young missionary, had entered the MTC! I graduated from High School ten years ago! Man, last night we realized how quickly time flies by, and how we are quite literally caught up in the whirlwind and rapture of the smallest moments. Our lifes are just a collage of ongoing interconnected events and experiences; now I know we all know this...but it didn't feel like it had been 10 years.
I have had an incredible year, and I am so excited for the next year; to see what happens, where we will go, what we accomplish, etc. Oh, the anticipation and possibilities of the year to come!! Hopefully everyone will have some part to play in the next year of my life; I so enjoy and love my family members and friends! You all mean so much to me! Thanks for making last year so great, and for all that you brought "to the plate!" I can't wait for "the next course!"

The Dash

The Dash
The Dash
By Linda Ellis
I read of a man who stood to speak
At the funeral of a friend.
He referred to the dates on her tombstone
From the beginning to the end.
He noted that first came the date of her birth
And spoke of the following date with tears,
But he said what mattered most of all
Was the dash between those years.
For that dash represents all the time
That she spent alive on earth
And now only those who loved her
Know what that little line is worth.
For it matters not, how much we own,
The cars, the house, the cash,
What matters is how we live and love
And how we spend our dash.
So think about this long and hard;
Are there things you'd like to change?
For you never know how much time is left
That can still be rearranged.
If we could just slow down enough
To consider what's true and real
And always try to understand
The way other people feel.
And be less quick to anger
And show appreciation more
And love the people in our lives
Like we've never loved before.
If we treat each other with respect
And more often wear a smile,
Remembering that this special dash
Might only last a little while.
So when your eulogy is being read
With your life's actions to rehash
Would you be proud of the things they say
About how you spent your dash?

This was on a friend of a friends blog that really touched me! I do hope I can say a was a kind, loving and great friend! I love all of you! Angela

So mUch hAs HaPPEned SinCe laSt HallOweeN!

As our children grow, and the media dictates the current trends in our wardrobes, I couldn't have been more pleased at the choice that my two year old son picked to be this year for Halloween. Now, my daughter didn't pick

her outfit, but she might as well had. I was so blown over by the sheer blow these kids were to my heart! I was blown away, and fell in love all over again with my wife for giving them to me. My kids, I swear, are straight from Heaven!

Love Kitch, Angela, Batman (Jaxon), and Little LadyBug (Lia)!

That's Mr. Nurse to You!!!

Well, it has been a really long time in coming, but I am super excited to declare that I have finally, after little under a year of schooling, and an "Exit Program Exam" and a "State Board NCLEX Exam," I have been issued a state of Utah Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) License effective July 16th!!! We are so happy, and excited to have overcome this most recent obstacle; and stand closer to my career goals!
Thank you so much for everyone's support and encouragment, and also prayers in our behalf. I did it, I took the test; but you were all helpful in our love and support! No obstacle infront of me can truly be as big as the support behind me!
Love Kitch, Angela, Jaxon, and Lia!

Let Them Be Little

Hello my Dear Friends and Loved Ones,

Our little children are such a blessing in our lives! Little Jaxon makes us laugh all the time with his personality and individuality; little Lia makes us smile all the time and cherish every single stretch, squirm, moan and cry. Life is so great! We love our children; life would be different and lacking in some ways without my children around. We certainly need to cherish these little moments...it seems just like yesterday I was holding Jaxon on my chest asleep, and now he is so big and little Lia is so small. Cherish today, be patient for tomorrow, and treasure yesterday; at times our lives seem to fly away from us, and other times it crawls. I hope my children fit in my arms and chest for a long time to come.

Kitch vs. the Fish

It was a rainy and cold morning. We had been up since 4Am; or rather, opportunity had...but not me! I was the last to show up at base camp. But it wasn't I who was holding up the show, it was the van! We had to add transmission fluid to the van before we could get together to attack the water. There were a few tense moments, but we were fishing before dawn!
Our lures were in the water, it was raining, and the wind was blowing. We were all cold, wet, and stinky...except for Andrew; he was the only one that was able to shower before our little excursion.
With Andrew at the helm of the canoe, we circled over the endless and deep abyss waiting for opportunity to strike. We waited for two hours; two hours of numbing wind and wet pants, frozen hands w/out gloves, and rain running down our backs! When Ian, the youngling, was tired of waiting for nothing, we decided it best to head back for shore. We circled the bay; attempting to prolong the inevitable and delay our approach. Soon we were 50yds from shore and it was time to reel in our nylon lines and call it a day. My lure was no more than 8ft from the bow, when I saw something break the surface. It was a beautiful, brilliant, and titliating lake troat, a rainbow trout to be specific! I reeled in a truly beautiful lake trout!!! Andrew and I ate it this morning after it was filleted and fried; success had never tasted so good!!! It's good to be a Guy!!

Jaxon's 2nd Birthday!!

We had so much fun! We took Jaxon to Kangaroo Zoo where he was able to run around crazy and have so much fun! He was there with his little cousing Hayden and his parents (my sister Jenny and her husband Corby), Aunt Wendy (my brother-in-law's wife), his Uncle Ian, and his Grandma (my mother-in-law)! We had so much fun! As you can see, Jaxon was free to run around, and he did like a mad-man! I couldn't imagine having more fun! After that we went to the Discovery Park in Highland, and had pizza and cupcakes! Andrew and Sarah were able to join us there, and we all had a blast with eachother! The wind got a little crazy so we came back to our house where Jaxon opened the rest of his presents! He got a little golf set (Dad loves it), puzzles, a big ball, and the coolest little motorcycle thing ever! He loves it! (So does his Dad!) It would have been great to have had more family, but it was so great having those that could come! It was a wonderful birthday party, and we are looking forward to several more!
Happy Birthday Jaxon! Love Dad (Kitch), Mom (Angela), and Lia (to be born VERY soon)!

Daddy's Little Girl

It's so funny. I'm sitting here at 4:00AM in the morning, and I am all of a sudden scared that Lia won't find the right guy to marry in the Temple. I brought my computer to work tonight, and I've written her this big letter about the importance and divinity in womanhood, motherhood, and femininity. It's a gift, priviledge, an honor, and a right to hold at great value! I'm telling her to take time to play with her siblings, give one more hug, to look over her shoulder at her dad, ME, when she is getting into that car for the Prom, to smell the roses, to feel the grass under her feet, to let the wind blow her hair over her face and kiss her checks, to not be in such a hurry to grow up! To assure her that we love her so much, and that the love in a family only grows and is never divided among the kids where some have more than others, or a "bigger piece." ... and she isn't even in my arms yet and I am looking forward with a sense of dread to the day that she doesn't fit into my arms anymore. Will she go into the arms of a man that truly deserves her? Who appreciates her? Who loves her more, if not as much as I do? Who would do anything to be worthy of her? To be man enough to impress me to the point where I would encourage her, if not place her in his arms?? It's a wonder that any Parent ever sleeps at night!! I have 1.8 kids, and I am already worried about all of them!!!
I want to be the best Dad. I want my family to be safe. I want so much for them. Do you worry about those things? Maybe it's these feelings that drive us to the things we need to to make all of it possible.

Oh The Places We'll Go!

Our little Jaxon is so great! He is all over the place! He runs around at the playground; he just can't wait to be a big kid and go everywhere without is annoying parents following him around! He is so fun to be with, everything is new and fun when you do it with a child!

Even when he sleeps it's amazing!! I am so proud of my little "Dude!"

It's A Girl!!

We have recently been given a message of great joy for our little growing family! We are going to have a little girl! We have actually known now for quite sometime, but I have neglected to add it to the blog space.
There was once a time when I was really very good at keeping an up-to-date journal…yet it appears that I have currently fallen out of that habit. There has been so much that has taken place, that I feel it a shame that I have not kept a journal; and even then this blog space is more-or-less just snapshots and glimpse’s in time.
I’m sitting here and the wind is blowing gale-force winds outside, and Jaxon is trying so hard to fight the sleep that is slowly ebbing over his eyes…It will only be a matter of moments before the sleep inevitably takes him. He’s stubborn just like his old man.
Time is slowly creeping on, it’s almost like the mission: “The days are long, but the weeks are short.” I can’t believe that the holidays have come and past to leave us now looking forward to spring, blossoms, grass, warmth, and new life! Our little girl is scheduled/due to arrive on the 12th of June! We almost can’t wait, but we have a lot to keep us busy until that time! Just like the fall season, we have a lot going on this spring. We have a few birthdays: Aunt Jenny had a birthday February 11th, Cousin Hayden is having a birthday party on the 23rd to celebrate his birthday on the 27th, Grandpa (Papa) Mark has a birthday March 7th, Aunt Wendy’s on the 15th, Great-Grandpa Kitchener E. has a birthday on the 20th , Grandma Gale (My Mom) has a birthday on the 22nd, Uncle Ian on the 28th and Uncle Drew’s on the 31st! It’s sure going to be a busy month!
School and work has kept me really busy lately! Finals are coming up this next week, and I have had to do a lot of studying, while working full time at an Assisted Living Facility in Alpine, UT on the graveyard shift. It’s a blessing that my boss allows me to study while working over night. It’s been tough, but with helping to watch Jaxon while Angela works in the morning, it’s been great. Sometimes parenting is like a tag-team sport, when one needs a break they tap-out, and the other comes in where they left off. If I didn’t have a “teammate,” I would be so lost! Yet Angela is so much more than a teammate, she is my life, my friend, my companion, my cheerleader, my everything! Having her in my life is so much more than privilege, it’s an honor and a blessing; a blessing for which I strive everyday to remain worthy of possessing.
Angela has been doing very well! With exception to the odd days we all have with work, she likes her job and excels at her duties. The pregnancy continues to progress a little bit more everyday. It has been a wonder to watch our little girl grow within Angela! Just the other day Angela was resting with Jaxon on the bed when I came home from school, and I could actually see and feel where our daughter was resting in the womb. I can’t wait to touch and hold my little girl!
Jaxon has been growing and developing more and more everyday! Sunday night we were laying in bed; and as is usually the case, Jaxon was laying with us. Just for kicks, I looked over at Jaxon and said, “Jaxon, turn off the light in your room.” He looked at me, crawled off the bed, went across the hall, climbed up the recliner in his room, TURNED OFF THE LIGHT SWITCH ON THE WALL, climbed back down the chair, and ran into our room! AND THEN I told him to shut his door, to which he pulled an about-face and SHUT HIS DOOR! Angela and I didn’t know if he had shut it with him in his room or what, but after a second he came running back into our room. THEN I asked him to shut our door, and he did that as well! Then he ran to us amidst the clapping of our hands and the proclamations of our excitement and joy! Our little boy is growing up so fast, and is becoming so smart! He understands so much of what we say, far more than he can repeat…but we know it will only be a matter of time before he will be talking up a storm of recognizable words. He lets us know when he messes his diapers, and can say (at times) poopoo, peepee, oh oh…or he just cries a little saying “Momma” and touching his diaper. Angela and I are wondering if we can start potty-training him, because he lets us know when he has and/or is going.
I don’t really know how much more you can stand in regard to our lives, but it has been nice to be able to reach out and share with you…even for just a moment. We are so widespread in our family, and knowing that we can share with you makes you feel closer. We love you, we miss you, and we think of you often. With all our love, we wish you a wonderful and sweet Valentine’s Day (tomorrow) and an upcoming President’s Day Weekend!
Love Kitch, Angela, Jaxon, and our daughter!
P.S. – Stay tuned for girl names!

The Changing Times

Another incredible Chirstmas has come and gone, and we are anxiously engaged in the preparations for upcoming events in our lives. Very soon (Jan. 18th-20) Angela will be WALKING a 5k to ensure her place in the St. George Marathon in October. We will be going down with her family, who Mark, Andrew, and I believe Aaron will be doing a half marthon (13 miles) and Sarah will be doing the 5k with Angela. With everyone doing this run in January, they will all be guarenteed a place in the St. George Marathon in October '08! Everyone here is very excited about this upcoming weekend in St. George, and are excited to be getting together.
Jaxon continues to grow and explore his world in every way possible. With every centimeter and inch he gains, with continually developing dexterity, even the doors are presenting themselves as something new to conquer. I was shocked the other day when he locked me in the bathroom! Good thing I had to forsight to stash away extra toilet paper!
Angela is doing so well in our pregnancy! She is beginning to show, and can feel the baby move within. I cannot as of yet feel anything, but remain anxious to do so. I heard that it is possible to speak to the infant, and do so often. We are so blessed that her bleeding has passed, and wish to thank you all for your prayers, thoughts, and temple submissions in our behalf. It was truly divine, and we are forever grateful! We find out the gender on the 24th of this month, and we can barely stand it!! We are so excited in fact, that we couldn't contain all of it, and have invited both Angela's and my parents to the ultrasound. It's going to be tight, but the love will be tangible in that room! I'll be expecting some other members of my family to be present as well, we know, don't we?
I'm getting back into school, and this semester will very soon be drawing to a close...February I believe. I can't believe how much time has gone by. I'm so excited to be pursuing my career and my education! Angela has been so great in her unyielding support, love, and encouragement. I would truly be lost without her. I am so blessed to call her my friend, my partner, and most importantly...my eternal companion. I am so glad to have found her! There are times when I glance over and just look at her, and later find that I haven't been breathing for quite sometime. That's when she looks over at me, having heard me "deep sigh and gasp," and tells me like she has so often, "STOP STARING AT ME!" :)
We love you all so much, and take great joy in your happiness and successess. We were so happy to recieve several pictures in Christmas letters this past year, and it made Angela upset that we hadn't thought of the same thing. Good thing there's another year coming up, at which time you will all be introduced to our new baby!!! Only 347 days to prepare for Christmas '08 Family Pic Christmas Cards!!!! Love Kitch, Angela, Jaxon and the little one!
